Samantha Kolkey, LCSW
Samantha received her BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She is a licensed clinical social worker and began her career working as a case manager and then a clinician for children, youth, and families in the child welfare system. She began her work at Options for College Success as a part-time resident adviser in 2014. She began working full time for the organization in 2017 as the Director of Programming before taking on the Executive Director role in January of 2018. Samantha has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children, young adults, and families. She strives to fulfill the mission of our organization day in and day out, inspired by our founders!
In her free time, Samantha dedicates herself to the practice of yoga and mindfulness. Gardening, running, listening to vinyl, and playing with her dog are a few of her favorite hobbies.
Tori Kause, LSW
Director of Programming and Development
Tori received her BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Tori’s clinical background includes working with clients of all ages in the hospital setting, at-home, and within nonprofit organizations. Tori brings her clinical skill set into her work with the organization and students. She utilizes principles from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and has expertise in adjustment issues related to transitions and other stressors, as well as issues with low self-esteem and school-related problems. Tori began working at Options for College Success in 2018 and has dedicated herself to developing improvements and additions to group and individual programming, as well as the progress of our students.
Tori has a passion for the outdoors and is an avid climber.
Admissions and Academics Coordinator
Kevin grew up in Park Ridge, IL., attending Maine South High School and then graduating from the University of Chicago with a BA in Economics. After being a runner on the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for all four years in college, Kevin became one of the youngest members on the trading floor in the 1996, trading derivatives on short term interest rates. From 1999-2005, Kevin appeared regularly on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, CNN, and Reuters Television. After 20+ years as a successful trader, risk manager and consultant. Kevin is now currently studying Data Science at Northwestern University.
Kevin has a passion for teaching, mentoring and coaching and a love for sports and science. Prior to joining the team full time, Kevin has enjoyed working with Options for College Success for 6 years as a tutor. He is always heavily invested in the success and growth of the students.
